SEAPLANE FLEET

Seair Seaplanes operates one of the most luxurious and newest seaplane fleets in North America – scrupulously maintained to the strictest of standards.

Our large fleet of seaplanes includes Cessna Caravans, DeHavilland Turbine Beavers, and Dehavilland Beavers. With this fleet, we have the ability to accommodate various group sizes (1-76 passengers).

Cessna 208 Caravan

The Cessna Caravan is the flagship aircraft of our fleet. Our Caravans have been purchased brand new directly from the Cessna Aircraft Company. Besides being the fastest floatplane in Canada, the Caravan is also the largest single engine floatplane in the world currently in production. With its single engine efficiency it is capable of taking nine passengers further than any other single engine floatplane available today.

The Caravan is by far the most comfortable seaplane in the world. With the available executive interior we can carry up to seven people in the ultimate in seaplane transportation.

Capable of carrying nine passengers and bags over 300 miles or up to four passengers up to 1000 miles non-stop, the Caravan is the plane of choice for extended range seaplane flights. We are able to take passengers directly to destinations that once required either connecting flights or fuel stops.

DeHavilland Turbo Beaver

Considered by many as the ultimate single engine seaplane, the Turbo Beaver is the evolution of the classic bush-plane. With the addition of the venerable Pratt and Whitney PT-6 turbine engine, DeHavilland took a great airplane and made it even better. With much greater performance and payload the Turbo Beaver is a favorite of passengers and pilots alike.

Our Turbo Beavers have had ongoing updates that have increased the useful load and performance considerably over the original. The Turbo Beaver has the highest power to weight ratio of any commercial floatplane in the world.

DeHavilland Beaver

In a time when tube and fabric airplanes were the standard, DeHavilland Canada broke the mold when they built the Beaver. The Beaver was a result of a survey of bush pilots requests for the ultimate bush-plane. The combination of the powerful Pratt and Whitney Radial engine and high lift wing and large doors created the benchmark by which all floatplanes are measured.

Our fleet includes serial number 1000. “Papa Charlie Golf” was previously owned by Philip Clarke Garratt, the former President of DeHavilland and father of the Beaver project. The Beaver has endured the test of time having its 70th anniversary in 2018. The Beaver has been voted one of Canada’s ten greatest engineering achievements of the twentieth century.
