Dehavilland Beaver

Dehavilland Beaver

In a time when tube and fabric airplanes were the standard, DeHavilland Canada broke the mold when they built the Beaver. The Beaver was a result of a survey of bush pilots requests for the ultimate bush-plane. The combination of the powerful Pratt and Whitney Radial engine and high lift wing and large doors created the benchmark by which all floatplanes are measured.

Our fleet includes serial number 1000. "Papa Charlie Golf" was previously owned by Philip Clarke Garratt, the former President of DeHavilland and father of the Beaver project. The Beaver has endured the test of time having its fiftieth anniversary in 1998. The Beaver has been voted one of Canada's ten greatest engineering achievements of the twentieth century.
